I used to be very anti-leggings. Maybe I was put off by the many people wearing them in really unflattering ways. But last week opened up my eyes to the joy of leggings! I was doing a drama course and the dress code was comfy but not loose bottoms and tops. So obviously, 99% of the girl attending wore leggings. Including me.
One of my pet peeves about leggings is looking like everyone else. Like the girls who turned up in leggings and Hollister tops. Boring! But luckily, I had a few ideas for standing out from the crowd. Here are a few:
 |
| Not the boots, but a similar style |
-Using my previously mentioned multi-coloured Jack Wills shirt as a shirt dress belted with an old skinny leather belt. It looked like pure retro style! I combined it with the most DIVINE new boots, which really deserve a whole post to themselves. Lace up, brown leather, Victorian-esque little boots with gold hooks and chunky heels. I received 5 compliments the first time i wore them, most from people I've never spoken to before! And as I discovered, they look great with leggings.
-Long JW coloured vest tops (Recommended for fit and colour, but try and get there in the sale) with an array of crop tops! Note to all: Please were tiny crop tops with vest underneath. I really shouldn't be able to tell you what colour bra most the girls were wearing each day. My favourite are often Topshop. There aren't many available right now, but I bought a fabulous stripy one with a big shatter of flowers on the side last season, and my friend has a cute hawaiin print number. My fave layering piece for this look was my friends 'borrowed' denim shirt.

| Cute Topshop tiered lace cami |
-My friend Sarah came up with a divine look. Leggings (obviously), a little lace cami and a khaki jacket. Note to self: Khaki and lace are a divine pair. They look classy and compliment each other beautifully, making your outfit look about twice the price. Obviously my boots would have made the outfit even better, but there are some things you just don't share. Sorry guys.
Keep styling up new ideas guys xxxx
Thanks for mentioning my hawaiian top! Also people should know I got it on sale... as any savvy shopper should.
