some shopping! My first spree was very successful. After flicking through magazines, studying the runway shows and evaluating my own wardrobe, I decided on my necessary buys. I always do this to keep my wardrobe focused and stylish!
-I was looking for a perfect pair of jeans, and grey skinnies were my personal preference to replace my old Levis. Firstly I tried the classic shop itself, but Levis is surprisingly slack about grey women's denim, or at least the Oxford street branch is. Luckily I found a pair at Topshop! Blue-grey skinny jeans, they fit well, go with everything and can be dressed up or down accordingly. They are unfortunately not available on topshop.com, but there are plenty of others to choose from.
-A great jacket. I already have a leather biker jacket from pepe jeans, on trend but too heavy for autumnal layering. So instead I looked around the usual high street shops for a cool layering piece and hit the jackpot in H&M! A gorgeous khaki military cropped jacket with oversized gold buttons, as soon as I saw it I had to have it! And luckily for me it was only £25! It looks great with just jeans and also over a cute summery dress.
-A kick-ass party dress! Have you ever tried on a dress as a joke with a friend in a shop for a laugh and then fallen in love with it? This is actually a great idea: when you have an hour free in a high street shop (in this case Topshop) try on all the crazy styles and you just might find the look for you. Me and my friend both tried on dresses: mine electric blue, hers black & nude. They're bodycon with layers of chiffon and to our surprise looked ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS on. We fell in love, and luckily I could just afford it. My friend couldn't, but she doesn't know I bought her it for a late birthday present!
- A cute layering shirt- Jack Wills provided the goods this time. I love its quirky English style and I know that there are the occasional overpriced 'brand' tops and hoodies, there are some quality individual pieces. I found a checked shirt, extra small but still oversized, in blues, reds, purples, corals, greens... I wear it belted over skinny jeans and a bright vest top, or as a dress-shirt layered with leggings and a cardigan. And it was on sale: £40 to £20! Bargain! Theres a major Jack Wills sale at the moment, take this shirt down £19 from £59.
Happy shopping! xx
